No prior experience required. Only an open heart and a willingness to serve.
Do I need a medical or healthcare background?
No prior experience is required. The curriculum is designed to train you from the ground up. Many graduates come from caregiving, faith, counseling, and community backgrounds — not just healthcare.
Is this program accredited?
The Walk With Thee curriculum is fully aligned with NEDA Core Competencies and developed by a NEDA Listed End-of-Life Doula Educator. Graduates receive a Walk With Thee Certificate of Completion and can pursue the optional NEDA Proficiency Badge independently.
What is the NEDA Proficiency Badge?
The NEDA Proficiency Badge is an optional credential offered by the National End-of-Life Doula Alliance. The exam costs $115, requires 85% to pass, and requires a NEDA membership. Walk With Thee prepares you with a study guide included in L16.
Is the live certification session really required?
Yes — attendance at the Live Final Integration & Certification Session is required to receive your Certificate of Completion. It is a 2–2.5 hour ceremony, not a class, and it is one of the most meaningful parts of the program.
Can I work with Walk With Thee after graduating?
Yes. L15 covers the Walk With Thee agency model and how graduates can work as contracted doulas through the academy. Community and mentorship continue after certification.
